How Jason Survived the New Years with His New In-Laws

First, there was a paint-ball party on Sunday. (Prior to this, on Saturday, he attended his own wedding reception with the new in-laws. I'm sure the
paint-balling was very badly needed after that!)
Getting geared up with two of his new brother-in-laws, Andrew and Linden.

Out on the field doing the final checks on the equipment.
Just a few of Jason's new brother-in-laws:
Daniel

Andrew
Glen
Linden
Has Jason mentioned that he has 9 new brothers-in-law?
The location of the paint-ball party: The Tractor-Trailer Graveyard.

Right before everything got serious.
Half of these guys are now related to Jason and there was even one brother-in-law missing. (Afterwards, Jason kept telling me how he couldn't believe that one family would have enough guys in it to form their own paint-ball team. Sorry honey, but it's a little to late to back out now!)
I don't have any "after" photos of the paint-ball party, but I can tell you that it lasted for over 5 hours. And it ended with them switching locations to a hay field and getting two pick-ups stuck and needing a tow.

Now we see how Jason fares on New Years Eve while celebrating Christmas with these new in-laws.

Watching all the ping-pong and foos-ball tournaments in the basement until time to eat.

He discovered that you don't just pass out gifts individually. You pass out laundry baskets and banana boxes with your personal family's gifts already pre-sorted into them!

He was properly inducted into the family by his sister-in-law, Jul, who made him wear this beanie.

After all the food and gifts, Jason finally felt comfortable enough to join in on the annual Monopoly game.

What he didn't realize is that this game is played mafia-style. Here is proof of just a few of the contracts that were written up during the game.

That's when Jason really let it all go and let his true colors shine thru.

Notice the signatures and initials on all these contracts.

And here are two of the final three survivors of this 5 hour Monopoly game, Linden and Jason.

Linden has won the annual Monopoly game for the past 12 years. This year, he lost his title to Jason. Here he is, turning over his losing assets to Glen (who was surviving the game solely on luck and government welfare, according to Jason and Linden) so that he could go home before midnight.

At the end of the game and the end of Jason's first Christmas with his new in-laws, this was the final note written.

(For any of you that don't know, when Jason married me he got 9 brothers-in-law, 7 sisters-in-law, 3 nephews, 6 nieces, and a father and mother-in-law.)

  2. PS: Did you know that Monopoly is changing their game pieces? To a ring, robot, and a bunch of other weird, new-age stuff. Boo, hiss!

  3. I love your posts! In the picture of the guys lined up for paintball, you said one brother-in-law was missing; somehow I thought neither James nor Ted were there, but maybe I'm wrong! (I wasn't there, so...) Anyway, keep up the great blog; I have no trouble getting it, but I had trouble trying to put in my name in the "comment as" box last time, so I just used "anonymous". It's me, Peewee! Loved all your wedding posts! You handled everything so well, and it all turned out so beautiful! Love ya!
